GROWTH RESPONSE, YIELD AND MINERAL NUTRIENT RELATIONS OF Capsicum frutescens L. EXPOSED TO SIMULATED ACID RAIN

Studies on the effect of simulated acid raid rain (pH 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and control pH 5.6) growth, yield mineral nutrient relations Capsicum frutescens (chilli pepper) was carried out. Simulated (SAR) prepared by adding sulphuric nitric in ratio 3:1 to distilled water get desired pH, sprayed plants. The experimental result indicated that under stress rain, growth parameters which include plant height, number leaves, fresh dry weight test stem girth decreased with decreasing values. Leaf area fruit production were also affected. Nutrient analysis leaves shows a decline macro nutrients such as Na, P, K Ca increasing acidity levels. induced morphological changes including chlorosis, necrotic lesions noticed leaf surfaces.
